About Jen Burden
When she’s not being asked to advocate for children’s global health by the UN Foundation with celebrities on behalf of World Moms Blog, orchestrating a worldwide documentary for the GAVI Alliance in Switzerland for life-saving vaccinations for children in the developing world or hosting twitter parties with her international online mom friends, you will often find this stay-at-home New Jersey mom chasing her two young daughters on the beach.
A Brick Township native and current Holmdel resident, Jennifer is the founder of World Moms Blog, which writes from 20+ countries on motherhood, culture, social good and human rights around the world. And she got her blogging start, here, at Jersey Moms Blog under the pen name of Veronica Samuels!
Jennifer is a fan of baby signing, raising her children bilingual even when she’s not, the importance of unstructured play for preschool children, whole grains and keeping a sense of humor in her most trying motherhood moments. That’s how she says she gets by.
She says, “Interacting with mothers around the world online has been an amazing experience on my motherhood journey. We all want what’s best for our kids, but our differing cultures and geographies expose us to different ways to go about it, which is sometimes surprising, often inspiring, sometimes a good laugh and on the whole, mind opening.”
Jennifer’s writing has been found on Mamapedia, PATCH, Scary Mommy, the UN Foundation’s [email protected] website, the Million Moms Challenge, and she has been interviewed by Scientific American magazine. You can find her at World Moms Blog, on Facebook and on Twitter: @WorldMomsBlog and @JenniferBurden.
