Six months ago we were smiling for this photo, committed to a physical and fundraising mission for something good.
One week ago we were smiling for another, having toured Manhattan over 39 miles on foot along with 3,500 other participants in the Avon 39 Walk to End Breast Cancer. While it’s taken blisters a full week to heal, the impact of our collaborate efforts will be long-lasting.
We are so very grateful for our Sponsors and many generous Supporters who helped us reach our goal of over $12,000, contributing to overall fundraising of $8.7 million for the NYC event! That’s a lot of mammography screenings and treatment, breast health education, and financial assistance to breast cancer patients in underserved areas of New York. See where the dollars go here: http://avon4.me/1NkoBYq
But here’s what got me.
As we continued to fundraise for over 6 months, our little community of Red Bank, NJ just kept giving. Friends, family and local businesses dug deep and repeatedly in the spirit of ensuring we met our mark. We walked on behalf of every one of you who lifted us up, and in memory of special people who couldn’t walk.
