Jersey Rising – A Benefit Concert for Sandy Survivors is the first of hopefully many events from Jersey Rising, which is a team of motivated volunteers putting together a series of benefit concerts to aid those in need here on the Jersey Shore in the aftermath of Sandy.
Jersey Rising has partnered with the Center for Vocational Rehabilitation (CVR) in an effort to immediately relieve our communities ravaged by Sandy. CVR’s Disaster Relief and Distribution center is receiving goods from across the country. Items are being distributed to individuals in need, on-site and through mobile distribution. CVR is working hand-in-hand with local officials at every level, private groups and individuals, as well as charitable organizations to ENSURE aid is given DIRECTLY to those who need it. In conjunction with CVR, the Jersey Rising executive committee will assist in determining and addressing the needs of families and individuals who have suffered in the wake of Sandy.
Proceeds from the efforts made through Jersey Rising will align strictly with this initiative. For more information about CVR [501(c)(3)], please visit: http://cvrus.org/
