I found out about this NJ event when they contacted us here at Jersey Moms Blog. Prior to this, I had no inkling that such a magical and majestic spectacular existed here in the Garden State. I have to say, “too bad” because it was quite a show of grandeur and delight, for me, my husband and my kids. So, I want to share some awesome photos with you.
The first balloons to go up!
Five minutes later, they announced that Bruce Springsteen was in one of them.
The second round of balloons to be blown-up.
Not only were the balloons unbelievable, but earlier in the day, we witnessed the Cannon Lady shoot 125 feet into the air and land safely on a net. We also watched a kids’ music concert, juggling act and magic show. Further, there tons of vendors giving away free items (like chips, iced tea, gum, etc). We even got to walk into a hot air balloon lying on the ground. You could also pay to go on a balloon ride, we didn’t.
My kids are already asking to go back next year. They want to see the 9:30pm showing when the balloons glow in the dark.
Here are a few tips, learned the hard way by this first time goer.
First, bring hats. The airport where the festival takes place, is high in the hills of western Jersey. It is HOT! Second, bring chairs or a blanket to sit on as you wait for the balloon parade. And lastly, bring plenty of cash. It was $7 for a lemonade.
Maybe next year you will attend.
Or if you went this year, share your thoughts with us.
